I was thinking of building out a site for free skins. I know there are hundreds of free and some are bad skins out there why do we need another site to show them off?
I was thinking this site could be a gallery presentation of skins. Skin developers would put up pictures of the skins they want people to see and then we allow users to vote. The winning design for the last month would be available for download by members.
Members would pay a small monthly or yearly fee and most of that fee would go to the skin developer the month they are the featured download. Or maybe a portion of the fees based on how many times theirs is downloaded?
Anybody think this is a good or bad idea? Why or why not? Should this club focus on just DNN or is it valid to have other CMS’s?

Re: POLL: Would you be interested in a DNN skin club?
@codemypantsoff -- Honestly, I do think you could put together a free skins site that puts others to shame. I mean, I've been to all the "good" DNN free skins sites, and there ARE some good free skins (Sirius and Tranquility rank among the best free skins, and @ninameiers has some good ones, too)... However, for some reason, free skins sites seem to be lacking a bit in display mode, or presentation, "something" is lacking... It could be done better. Maybe that's because people don't spend tons and tons of time on stuff that they give away for free.

Re: POLL: Would you be interested in a DNN skin club?
Well thanks - heres the rub this wouldnt be free more of a vote on the best and then you can download it if you are a member - developer gets cash for the design and no matter what the developer gets some eyeballs on their work.
Might just build it to see how it goes!
What do you think of $30 for a year subscription. Or I was thinking of something like Ventrians system $25 for 3 months or $50 for the year?
Problems: How many skins do we all need? Could this be a skin shop too? Maybe you can buy past winners? Maybe you can buy any entries to the site? How to get skin developers to buy in? How to divide the subscriptions?
